RIP Vienna

Very sorry to say that our beautiful Sempers Spirit filly Vienna, lost her fight on Thursday morning. She had been ill for some weeks, and despite trying a number of treatments we lost her. She was a beautifully filly and the 8 short weeks she was with us will be treasured.
We would like to say thank you to everyone who has sent messages of support. It's such a harsh reality to loose a foal, especially such a fighter. Breeding is certainly not for the faint hearted.

East of England Show and 5th foal arrives!

Been a busy week with the arrival of our 5th and final foal of the season. Persia foaled on Thursday morning, a very attractive colt by Goshka Ringo. Looking like he will be a very dark brown and white, we are all very pleased with him and he is already showing that wonderful nature Ringo passes on to his foals.

He has been named Volatis Parthian, after the old Persian empire, but seems to have been given the name Paddy as a stable name!

Friday and Saturday saw us competing at the East of England Show with some of the Daldorn horses. Daldorn Ectasy, a 2yo gelding, took the Riding Horse Breeding Championship on his first outing since a foal. He behaved extremely well and all the hard work at home paid off.

Photos galore!

Foal watch continues as Persia VS draws closer to foaling down. She is bagging up nicely but not quite there yet. She is certainly very relaxed. She is due to the coloured stallion Goshka Ringo, sire of a number of foals for us, and is currently on day 335.

Valiant, our 2yo Trakehner gelding, is looking very well. He's being prepared for his first show of the season at Northern Horse Show near Wetherby, and then its on to the Royal Show, in the hack breeding classes.

Czar is flourishing, he is one of the nicest foals we have bred for sure. A week and a half old now, he seems to be everyones favourite.

Delta is in the adjoining paddock, a week older than Czar, she is wonderfully leggy, and has the most outstanding walk! Another cracking foal from Dee Dee

Also managed to get a few photos of the youngsters put on the summer grazing. Casi (2yo Trakehner by Tycoon) looking as beautiful as ever.

And Marci, 3yo Hungarian filly, sleeping off the grass!

Fourth Foal arrives - outstanding!

With the first three foals all being rather wonderful, our great season continues with the birth on Thursday morning of our only non-coloured foal of the season. Elf produced a simply outstanding dark brown colt by the German based Trakehner stallion Herzensdieb.
Although he is a young stallion, we have been impressed by him every step of the way, from taking the Grading Championship in 2005 at Neumunster, from seeing him at Munster Handorf stallion show dancing under saddle, and hearing his glowing foal reports, from both Trakehner and Hanoverian mares. Elf's colt is everything we hoped he would be, oozing quality and with superb limbs and a beautiful head.

Named Elfenczar, or Czar for short, we are so excitied about watching him develop over the next few weeks
