October update

A busy few months and weaning time is almost upon us already.

Since the last blog update Persia has been graded with the SHB, and Czar has been to the Trakehner breed show, where has was placed 3rd in the colt foal class. If he had walked instead of bouncing around he would have won the class as it was only his walk score that pulled him down to 3rd. After speaking to the German judge we have decided to run him on and all being well present him for grading with the TBF in a few years time. The judge commented that both his trot and canter were very strong, with the canter being especially active and uphill.

Cleio, our 3yo filly, has started to be backed, and has been wonderfully relaxed and straight forward so far. I think she is enjoying the fuss and attention. Hopefully Marci will come up to the yard soon to start her education.

At the end of the month we are both off to Germany to the Trakehner stallion licensing. A real highlight of the year, we are especially looking forward to seeing the collection of colts by Herzensdieb that have been pre selected for the licensing.
